Short title This Act may be cited as the Securing Smart Investments in our Ports Act . 2. Port Infrastructure Development Program (a) Port and intermodal improvement program Section 54301(a)(6)(B) of title 46, United States Code, is amended— (1) in clause (ii), by striking and after the semicolon; (2) in clause (iii), by striking the period and inserting ; and ; and (3) by adding at the end the following: (iv) ensuring equitable geographic distribution among regions of the United States with regard to the projects selected. . (b) Assistance for small inland river and coastal ports and terminals Section 54301(b)(4) of title 46, United States Code, is amended— (1) in subparagraph (B), by striking ; and ; (2) in subparagraph (C), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and ; and (3) by adding at the end the following: (D) ensure equitable geographic distribution among regions of the United States with regard to the projects selected. .
