Short title This Act may be cited as the Defending Women in the Workplace Act . 2. Rule of construction For purposes of title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 ( 42 U.S.C. 2000e et seq. ), the terms because of sex and on the basis of sex do not include because of or on the basis of gender identity.
