R. 7835 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES March 5, 2026 Ms. Letlow introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary A BILL To amend title 28, United States Code, to redefine the eastern and middle judicial districts of Louisiana. 1. Judicial districts of louisiana (a) In general Section 98 of title 28, United States Code, is amended— (1) by striking subsection (b) and inserting the following: (b) The Middle District comprises the parishes of Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, Saint Helena, and West Baton Rouge. ; and (2) by striking subsection (c) and inserting the following: (c) The Western District comprises the parishes of Acadia, Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Calcasieu, Caldwell, Cameron, Catahoula, Claiborne, Concordia, Jefferson Davis, De Soto, East Carroll, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Iberia, Jackson, Lafayette, La Salle, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Rapides, Red River, Richland, Sabine, Saint Landry, Saint Martin, Saint Mary, Tensas, Union, Vermilion, Vernon, Webster, West Carroll, West Feliciana, and Winn. . (b) Application The amendments made by subsection (a) shall not apply to any action commenced or pending in any judicial district of Louisiana before the date of enactment of this Act.
