R. 7281 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES January 30, 2026 Mr. Carson (for himself, Mr. Casar , Ms. Norton , Mr. Johnson of Georgia , Ms. Omar , Mr. Lynch , Mr. McGovern , Ms. McCollum , Mrs. McIver , Mr. Pocan , Ms. Pressley , Mr. Thompson of Mississippi , Ms. Tlaib , and Ms. Williams of Georgia ) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs A BILL To require a report on the death of Shireen Abu Akleh. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Justice for Shireen Act . 2. Report on death of Shireen Abu Akleh (a) In general Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Secretary of State, in consultation with the Attorney General, Director of National Intelligence, and Secretary of Defense, shall submit to Congress a report on the death of Shireen Abu Akleh. (b) Matters To be included The report required by subsection (a) shall include— (1) an identification of those individuals and entities that carried out, participated in, or were otherwise complicit in, or responsible for the death of Shireen Abu Akleh; (2) an identification of any United States defense materials, funds or services that were implicated in the death of Shireen Abu Akleh; and (3) as attachments, any unredacted report that may be relevant, including any report conducted by the U.S. Security Coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority. (c) Form The report required by subsection (a) shall be submitted in unclassified form and made available to the public at the same time on the website of the Department of State.
