R. 3729 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES June 4, 2025 Mr. Mullin introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure A BILL To amend title 49, United States Code, to provide eligibility for projects to develop and implement regenerative braking and energy storage technologies under the consolidated rail infrastructure and safety improvements program, and for other purposes. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Battery and Regenerative Braking Act . 2. Consolidated rail infrastructure and safety improvements Section 22907 of title 49, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following: (m) Additional eligible entities and projects In addition to the eligibility provided in subsections (b) and (c), an entity providing commuter rail passenger transportation, as defined in section 24102, shall be eligible under this section for projects to develop and implement regenerative braking and energy storage technologies. .
