Short title This Act may be cited as the Youth Suicide Prevention Research Act . 2. NSF research regarding childhood suicide Subsection (a) of section 3 of the Advancing Research to Prevent Suicide Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1862v ) is amended— (1) in paragraph (4), by striking and after the semicolon; (2) by redesignating paragraph (5) as paragraph (7); and (3) by inserting after paragraph (4) the following new paragraphs: (5) basic understanding of the role of adverse childhood experiences; (6) basic understanding of the role of toxic stress in childhood; and .
