II 119th CONGRESS 1st Session S. 1086 IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES March 14, 2025 Mrs. Moody introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary A BILL To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to prohibit the admission of Chinese nationals as nonimmigrant students, and for other purposes. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Stop Chinese Communist Prying by Vindicating Intellectual Safeguards in Academia Act of 2025 or the Stop CCP VISAs Act of 2025 . 2. Prohibition on admission of Chinese nationals as nonimmigrant students Section 214 of the Immigration and Nationality Act ( 8 U.S.C. 1184 ) is amended by adding at the end the following: (s) Prohibition on admission of Chinese nationals as nonimmigrant students An alien who is a national of the People's Republic of China may not be issued a visa or otherwise provided status as a nonimmigrant under section 101(a)(15)(F), (J), or (M), for the purpose of conducting research or pursuing a course of study. .
