U.S. House of Representatives 2025-03-26 text/xml EN Pursuant to Title 17 Section 105 of the United States Code, this file is not subject to copyright protection and is in the public domain. IV 119th CONGRESS 1st Session H. RES. 258 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES March 26, 2025 Mr. Weber of Texas (for himself and Mr. Carter of Texas ) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Ethics RESOLUTION Censuring Representative Jasmine Crockett of Texas. Whereas, on March 22, 2025, Representative Jasmine Crockett of Texas spoke at a Human Rights Campaign event in a manner unbecoming of a Member of Congress, calling the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, Governor Hot Wheels , and a hot ass mess ; and Whereas the remarks from Representative Crockett are discriminatory in nature and are the latest in a continued series of inappropriate comments expressed by Representative Crockett, such as on May 16, 2024, during a hearing of the Committee on Oversight and Accountability, when Representative Crockett espoused inflammatory comments about the appearance of another Member of Congress: Now, therefore be it That— (1) Representative Jasmine Crockett of Texas be censured; (2) Representative Jasmine Crockett forthwith present herself in the well of the House of Representatives for the pronouncement of censure; and (3) Representative Jasmine Crockett be censured with the public reading of this resolution by the Speaker.
