R. 841 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES January 31, 2025 Mr. Arrington introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Natural Resources A BILL To amend title 54, United States Code, to prohibit the acquisition of land, water, or an interest in land or water from a private landowner using amounts made available under the Land and Water Conservation Fund. 1. Land and Water Conservation Fund acquisition restriction (a) In general Section 200305 of title 54, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following: (l) Acquisition restriction A State that receives financial assistance from the Secretary under this section may not use such financial assistance for the acquisition of land, water, or an interest in land or water from a private landowner. . (b) Conforming amendment Section 200306(b) of title 54, United States Code, is amended by inserting Appropriations from the Fund may not be used for acquisition from a private landowner. after could be realized. .
