R. 4379 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES July 14, 2025 Mr. Self introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services A BILL To amend title 10, United States Code, to require the Secretary of Defense to issue regulations providing for the reimbursement of certain educational expenses for students determined to be medically ineligible for continued participation in the Senior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. 1. Regulations required Section 2107(c) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by inserting after paragraph (3) the following new paragraph: (4) (A) The Secretary of Defense shall issue regulations pursuant to which an individual who is required to participate in a unit of the Senior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps at an educational institution while a decision on the eligibility of that individual for financial assistance under paragraph (1) or (2) is pending, shall receive reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred to attend such institution during the period of such participation (including costs for tuition, fees, laboratory expenses, and room and board, as applicable) if that individual is later determined to be ineligible for such financial assistance solely for medical reasons. (B) As part of such regulations, the Secretary shall establish a process through which an individual described in subparagraph (A) may submit a claim for reimbursement and, if qualified, receive such reimbursement not later than 90 days after the date on which the claim is submitted. .
