I 119th CONGRESS 1st Session H. R. 4241 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES June 27, 2025 Ms. Omar (for herself and Mrs. Luna ) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs , and in addition to the Committees on the Judiciary , and Financial Services , for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned A BILL To repeal sanctions with respect to the Syrian Arab Republic, and for other purposes. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Syria Sanctions Relief Act . 2. Repeal of measures with respect to the Syrian Arab Republic (a) Repeal of the Syria Human Rights Accountability Act of 2012 (1) In general Title VII of the Iran Threat Reduction and Syria Human Rights Act of 2012 ( 22 U.S.C. 8791 et seq. ) is repealed. (2) Conforming amendment The table of contents for such Act is amended by striking the items relating to title VII. (b) Repeal of the Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act of 2019 Title LXXIV of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 ( Public Law 116–92 ) is repealed.
