I 119th CONGRESS 1st Session H. R. 2983 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES April 24, 2025 Mr. Green of Texas introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Agriculture A BILL To compensate victims of theft of supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits, and for other purposes. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Original Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Safeguarding Eligible Clients Under Reimbursement Enforcement Act of 2025 or the SNAP SECURE Act of 2025 . 2. Reinstatement of funding for SNAP benefit replacement Section 501(b)(2)(C) of division HH of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 ( 7 U.S.C. 2016a(b)(2)(C) ) is amended by striking 2024 and inserting 2034 .
