I 119th CONGRESS 1st Session H. R. 141 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES January 3, 2025 Mr. Burchett (for himself and Mr. Bishop ) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure A BILL To amend title 23, United States Code, to include education on trailer safety in State highway safety programs. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Trailer Safety Improvement Act . 2. Trailer safety programs Section 402(a)(2)(A)(xiv) of title 23, United States Code, is amended by inserting , prevent improper and unsafe use of light-duty and medium-duty trailers, and educate the public about required trailer safety equipment and preventive maintenance after unsecured vehicle loads .
